Ewald Tscheppe took over his family farm and winery in Styria, Austria at age 26. In the 15 years since then he has produced some of the region’s most fascinating wines. These are wines that are full, long and deep. They are savoury and complex while still being joyful and expressive.

“Werlitsch is a small family estate. We started very enthusiastic in 2004 when we took over the farm of my father. Now we have come a long way in going deeper and deeper in our aim to work in harmony with Nature and people. And still there is sometimes the feeling that we stay at the beginning, it seems it is a never ending story. This learning process is something which make our work full of joy, although it is not all the time easy.”

The single varietal “Vom Opok” wines come from the bottom of the hill, around 300m above sea level. Ewald uses Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Morillon (a chardonnay biotype) for these wines and they are typically more open and giving in their youth than his other wines. Despite this, they have an incredible capacity to age. These wines are all direct pressed and go into barrel for about 18 months.

The stock is dynamic and we are unable to completely manage it because of the fact that many parties are involved, which includes our warehouse and factory. So the actual stock may alter at any time. Be aware that it is possible that your order will be out of stock after you have made the order.

Our policy is valid for 30 days. We are unable to replace or refund your purchase after 30 days since the purchase.

In order to be eligible for a return, your item must be in good condition and in the same condition as you received it in. It must also remain in the original packaging.
